It was a pleasure to see all the beautiful offerings the children created to sell at the annual Born Wise markets. We had such a challenging time creating the bath bombs, such a science experiment. Alex purchased all the materials with his own money, and it took several attempts to find a recipe that worked. We were in the midst of a heatwave with a broken air conditioner, so the chemical reactions were extreme and most of them lost all their fizz before they set. Alex ended up choosing to sell the successful ones as bath sprinkles. He made beautiful sun catchers also, and all the parents were so impressed with his natural sales abilities and confidence in his products. Working out how much to outlay, how much to charge, how much time to spend on the products and how much profit was received was a fabulous profit & loss, small business learning outcome.
