- Understanding and using prepositions (in, out, on, under, etc.)
- Describing objects using adjectives (color, size, shape, etc.)
- Using verbs to describe actions (dumped, sorted, organized, etc.)
- Practicing communication skills by explaining what they did and why
- Developing problem-solving skills by figuring out how to clean up the mess
After cleaning up the mess, encourage the child to sort and organize the toys by category (dolls, cars, blocks, etc.) or by color. This can help reinforce their understanding of adjectives and categorization. You can also have them practice giving directions by asking them to tell you where to put certain toys (e.g. "Put the red car on the shelf").
