Early today, M started learning about advanced commands in Minecraft on her own. This is challenging work - she researched the correct syntax and command structure to achieve advanced tactics that she had seen in videos. For example, creating an invisible item frame or a debug stick. M asked for help at one point, but she had already come quite far on her own. We talked about how to research by searching with Google to figure things out when they are not working. We also learned about autocomplete for commands and how to look up commands in the game itself. This is all foundational work for coding. M also experienced a lot of dysregulation today. I believe this is due to the combination of exhaustion from the haircut yesterday, the tension she is experiencing with friends, and the anticipation of Christmas next week. That said, she did engage in several long virtual play sessions with friends, where they navigated conflict and support each other in learning a new game. This learning also involved reading and writing as they figured out and navigated the new challenge (Holiday update quest in Dress to Impress)
