- The Twelfth-grade child has learned basic Mandarin vocabulary and phrases through the Duolingo activity. They can now understand and use common words and phrases in conversations.
- By completing the activities on Duolingo, the child has learned to recognize and write Chinese characters. They can now read simple sentences and understand their meanings.
- The child has gained an understanding of Mandarin grammar rules and sentence structure through their practice on Duolingo. They can now construct basic sentences and express themselves in Mandarin.
For continued development, the child can supplement their Duolingo practice with watching Mandarin movies or TV shows with subtitles, participating in language exchange programs, or finding a language partner to practice speaking Mandarin with. They can also try reading Mandarin books or listening to Mandarin audiobooks to improve their reading and listening skills.

- The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: This classic novel is available in various languages, including Mandarin. The child can read the Mandarin version to further enhance their reading skills and vocabulary.
