Core Skills Analysis
Health and Wellbeing
Baylee recognized the importance of rest while she was sick on Thursday and spent the day sleeping and recovering. On Friday, she felt better and completed personal-care tasks by having a bath and washing her hair. This showed Baylee how daily routines can change when the body needs recovery and how self-care supports a return to normal activities.
Music
Baylee practised keyboard on Friday using the Simply Piano tutoring app. She worked on following digital musical instruction and developing keyboard skills through guided practice. This activity supported concentration, coordination between seeing and moving, and early understanding of musical patterns.
Digital Literacy and Recreation
Baylee played Roblox for half an hour on Thursday and again on Friday, using a digital environment for recreation and interactive play. She also watched Coraline as she went to bed, engaging with a story presented through film. These activities gave Baylee opportunities to make choices, follow game or story events, and use technology within a planned part of her day.
Animal Care and Social-Emotional Learning
Baylee interacted and played with the family’s new Galah, Nutsey, on Friday. This experience gave her an opportunity to build familiarity with a new animal through gentle interaction and shared play. Spending time with Nutsey may also have supported patience, attentiveness, and enjoyment of a new relationship.
Tips
Tips: Help Baylee create a simple recovery-and-routine chart showing rest, hygiene, practice, play, and social time. She could keep a short keyboard practice log and describe one new musical skill after each session. Invite her to draw Nutsey and write observations about the bird’s appearance or behavior, using only what she notices. For Roblox or Coraline, ask her to retell one event, identify a character’s choice, and explain what happened next.
