Core Skills Analysis
Physical Education
BAYLEE spent much of the day actively moving through trampoline jumping, swinging, skateboarding, scootering, dancing, and playing with her dog. She practiced balance, coordination, body control, and gross-motor strength while changing between different activities. Playing spies with her sister also involved movement, imagination, and social cooperation. Her participation showed enthusiasm for varied active play and exercise.
Mathematics
BAYLEE practiced reading an analog learning clock and competed with her sister to identify what it showed. She worked with minute readings, recognized another way to describe 15 minutes as a quarter past, and practiced interpreting the complete time display. This activity strengthened her understanding of clock faces, elapsed-minute language, and quick time recognition.
English Language Arts
BAYLEE completed two English worksheet pages focused on compound words and connecting feelings with either positive or negative meanings. She practiced recognizing how two words can join to create a new word and classified emotional language by its tone. This supported vocabulary development, word structure awareness, and clear communication about feelings.
Social-Emotional Learning
BAYLEE played spies with her sister and participated in a friendly clock-reading competition with her sister. These activities gave her opportunities to share play, follow an imaginative scenario, take turns, and engage in comparison in a playful setting. Her work with positive and negative feelings also encouraged her to notice and label emotional qualities in language.
Tips
Tips: Extend BAYLEE’s learning by creating a daily “time detective” challenge in which she reads several clocks and explains each time in two ways, such as 3:15 and quarter past three. Make a compound-word scavenger hunt around the house, then invite her to draw one compound word and use it in a sentence. During outdoor play, have her design a short movement circuit using the trampoline, scooter, and swings, while describing safety rules and sequencing the stations. After Just Dance or imaginative play, ask her to write a few sentences naming the activity, describing one feeling, and identifying whether that feeling was positive or negative.

Try This Next
- Create a clock worksheet with times such as 2:15, 4:30, and 7:45; ask BAYLEE to write each time digitally and in words.
- Make compound-word cards, such as sun + flower and rain + bow, and have her match pairs and draw the resulting word.
- Write feeling words on slips of paper and sort them into positive, negative, or depends-on-the-situation categories.
- Plan a three-station movement challenge and have BAYLEE record the order, time spent, and safety rule for each station.
