Core Skills Analysis
Social-Emotional Learning
Suhaila participated in homeschooling park days and farm gatherings where she spent enjoyable time with friends. Through shared games and group activities, she practiced cooperation, communication, turn-taking, and building friendships. These experiences helped her develop confidence in informal community settings while learning how to participate respectfully with others.
Science
Suhaila fed animals during the farm gatherings, giving her direct, hands-on contact with living things. She learned through observation that animals have needs and depend on people for appropriate care. The activity also encouraged curiosity about animal behavior, food, habitats, and responsible interactions with nature.
Physical Education
Suhaila played games with other children during the park days and farm gatherings. These activities gave her opportunities to use movement, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness in an active social environment. She also practiced following game expectations and adapting her movements while participating with others.
Language Arts
Suhaila’s participation in group gatherings created opportunities to listen, speak, and communicate with friends during games and shared experiences. She practiced using language to explain ideas, respond to others, and take part in cooperative play. Recalling these experiences could also strengthen her ability to describe events in sequence and express personal reflections.
Tips
Tips: Invite Suhaila to keep a simple field journal describing one park day and one farm gathering, including who participated, what activities occurred, and how she felt. She could create an animal-care chart recording what she observed while feeding the animals, then discuss safe and respectful ways to interact with them. Extend the social learning with a cooperative game that requires planning and teamwork, followed by a conversation about what helped the group succeed. A photo-based memory project or illustrated map of the park and farm could combine storytelling, observation, and reflection.
