Core Skills Analysis
Science
Chloe completed two experiments about the three states of matter as part of the Good and the Beautiful Stars and Sparks unit. Through observing and discovering during the experiments, Chloe explored how matter can exist as a solid, liquid, or gas. The activities gave Chloe opportunities to notice and compare materials and connect observations with the idea of different states of matter.
Math
Chloe completed the second math unit in Good and the Beautiful Year 1, practicing number writing and adding single-digit numbers. Chloe also copied graph pictures, using visual information and careful placement to reproduce the designs. Identifying left and right added practice with direction and spatial language.
Language Arts
Chloe completed two Mouse House activity-card activities and worked with the letters A through D. Chloe practiced recognizing uppercase and lowercase forms and connecting the letters with their sounds. These activities supported early letter knowledge and sound awareness.
Tips
Tips Revisit the states of matter by inviting Chloe to sort familiar items as solids or liquids, then observe water changing between states with adult supervision and record what changes. Extend the math work with a small graph of favorite fruits or toys, then ask Chloe to count the results and answer simple addition questions using the totals. Make left-and-right practice active with a playful direction-following course, such as placing a toy to the left or right of a chair. For letters A–D, go on a letter hunt around the home or outdoors, say each sound, and think of a word that begins with it.
