Core Skills Analysis
Spanish Language Arts
Eros took part in a Spanish Mia Academy activity about greetings and times of day. He practiced connecting Spanish hellos with the parts of the day, building vocabulary and learning that greetings can change depending on when people meet. This gave him an early opportunity to hear and use Spanish in a familiar social context. He strengthened his awareness of how language helps people greet one another politely.
Social-Emotional Learning
Eros explored greetings as a way to begin friendly interactions. He learned that choosing a greeting can relate to the time of day and can help people acknowledge one another. This activity supported early understanding of courteous communication and everyday social routines.
Time and Daily Routines
Eros connected greetings with different times of day, practicing an early awareness that the day has distinct parts. He learned to associate language with the time-based context in which a greeting is used. This linked Spanish vocabulary to familiar daily routines and supported emerging time concepts.
Tips
Tips Build on Eros’s learning by making a picture-based morning, afternoon, and evening greeting chart together, then practice the matching Spanish greeting at each point in the day. Try a pretend café or puppet meet-and-greet where characters arrive at different times and Eros chooses how to say hello. Add a simple daily schedule and invite him to point out when each greeting fits. For a creative review, make greeting cards with a sun, midday scene, or moon and say the Spanish greeting aloud as you sort them.
