Physical Education and Health
Daivey played in an indoor playground with his brother and two friends, taking part in active play in a shared space. At age seven, this kind of play offered opportunities to practise moving his body, navigating play equipment, and building physical confidence through activity. Playing alongside other children also gave him a natural setting to experience active recreation with peers. The activity connected physical movement with social participation and enjoyment.
Social-Emotional Learning
Daivey shared the play barn with his brother and two friends, creating opportunities to participate in play alongside familiar peers. At age seven, playing in a group can help a child practise cooperation, communication, and awareness of other people in a shared environment. The activity brought together family and friendship in a recreational setting. It supported social connection through a common play experience.
Tips
Tips After the visit, invite Daivey to draw a simple map of the play barn and describe how he moved through the space, using words such as near, far, up, and down. Make a cooperative movement course at home where family members take turns choosing a safe action and encouraging one another. He could also tell or write a short beginning-middle-end story about playing with his brother and friends, then talk about what makes group play enjoyable and considerate.
