Physical Education

• The First-grade child has learned about the importance of physical activity while engaging in the activity of planting seeds. They have experienced firsthand the physical exertion required for digging holes, lifting and carrying gardening tools, and bending and squatting to plant the seeds.
• Through planting seeds, the child has also developed their fine motor skills by handling small seeds and carefully placing them in the soil.

Science

• The First-grade child has learned about the life cycle of plants by participating in the activity of planting seeds. They have observed how seeds germinate, develop roots, stems, leaves, and eventually grow into mature plants.
• Through hands-on experience, they have learned about the basic needs of plants, such as sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil.
• The child has also gained knowledge about the role of pollination and how flowers produce seeds for new plant growth.
• They have learned about the importance of taking care of plants by providing the necessary conditions for their growth, including watering, weeding, and protecting them from pests.

Continued development related to the activity of planting seeds can be enhanced by encouraging the child to keep a gardening journal. They can record their observations of the plants' growth, draw pictures, and write about any changes they notice. This will help them further develop their scientific inquiry skills and foster a deeper understanding of plant life.
