Jordan did a product analysis on Mobile technology. He watched a Power point presentation that explained what Product analysis is. The learning objective was to compare and contrast mobile phones through analysis. and to build an understanding of product analysis. The aim was for him to understand how technology push influences the market and speed of developmental change. He needed to analyse the mobile phones in terms of function and form. He looked at opportunities for future development taking into account the customers requirements. He learnt to use the product analysis using ACCESSFM. This in the acronym for Aesthetics - How does the phone's appearance appeal t the user? Cost - How much does this product cost? Customer - How easy is the product to use? Environment - How can this product help the environment? Safety - What are the safety features of this product? Size - How does the size suit the purpose and the user? Function What is the primary function of the phone? Materials- What materials have been used? Jordan learnt what these words meant in regards to the analysis, especially 'aesthetics' as this was a new word to his vocabulary. Jordan looked at some older mobile phones that his Geema had and then he had some pictures of various mobile phones which he attempted to place in order on a time line. This activity caught Jordan's interest as he really enjoys his iPhone 14 and all the feature that it has and he found it interesting how different the phones were originally and how they have evolved.
