Watched a documentary about earth history. Watched documentary “Life on our Planet” Chapter 1. Earth is 4 billion years old and had the perfect conditions for life- water, oxygen, temperature. Life started as LUCA cell (Last Unknown Common Ancestor). Drew shared knowledge about relatives of LUCA. Invertebrates lived next for millions of years. Plants were first living thing on land, followed by animals that left the sea- amphibians. Amphibians’ backbones and limbs were a “template” for other life forms. Next came reptiles, Drew’s favorite type of animal. Then mega mammals, who brought change to the planet itself. Rules of life were introduced: Adaptations lead to survival and a diversity of species Genetic qualities that help survival and will reproduce and there are leaps forward to new species- the process of evolution. Earth has had four mass extinction events. The longest period between those events was was the age of dinosaurs.
