Alice's Adventures at the German Christmas Market Alice experiences, learns German culture Diary Entry: Title: A Vibrant Exploration into German Culture with Alice What a lively day at the German Christmas Market with Alice! A smile was continuously etched on Alice's face as her experience brought her digital German lessons from the Duolingo app, to life! The German chatter around us mirrored the voices of her familiar Duolingo characters, which left Alice in awe, and also a bit composed to communicate in German. Alice's curiosity unwrapped itself when she spotted the traditional German clothing, painting a unique cultural portrait for her. Even though she found the attire somewhat unfamiliar, her zest to learn cannot be disregarded. Reading the German menus was yet another adventurous activity Alice embraced. Although a bit shy to order, Alice took her first steps into reading and pronouncing German words. Her animated efforts to read out the menu was a treat! Throughout the day, Alice's taste buds also got to dance! She was delighted with the sweet taste of the German Berliner - a treat similar to our jam donuts. However, the uniquely shaped German Wurst (sausage) didn't receive the same level of enthusiasm. There is plenty of German food to explore next time! Despite the overwhelming crowd, Alice expressed her wish to revisit next year, equipped with more knowledge about the German Christmas Market. It's wonderful to see how Alice's learning journey in German language acquisition is expanding beyond the four corners of the Duolingo app, contributing to her development as a global citizen. Looking ahead, we will continue to encourage Alice to try ordering in German during our next visit. It's certainly going to be a fun learning experience for her!
