Child played Civilization on Playstation. So for the past few months I've played Civilization 6, my perspective of the world literally changed. I now think about my city's infrastructure when I'm walking down the streets, and where the food comes from, military, and governors etc. Playing Civilization, constructing world wonders, and finding natural wonders, I've decided to include visiting all 7 wonders of the world and natural wonders in my bucket list. I find them fascinating now, which I never thought about before. Natural wonders are so beautiful and I never knew some of them even existed, which is crazy given the technology we have today. I'm much interested in history, geography, and countries ever than before, because I've played as a "leader" of that civilization. At least I now know the name of the capital cities of civilizations I've played, and which unique buildings and units it offers. For example, by simply playing Scotland, I've learned that Golf was originated there. I never knew that before. It's so fun learning random and yet useful things Civilization offer. And don't get me started on Civilopedia. It's just amazing. So much knowledge there. It's amazing how far we've come as a civilization from the ancient era to the information era today. And again I never thought about things like that, and I now truly appreciate living in this era and have the opportunity to learn about anything, do anything I want, and visit any country I like etc, because I "experienced" living in all human eras through this game. Reading about government policies and learning which policy later made it obsolete is a very simple and fun way to learn about policies. I never knew about Spartan males had to do Agoge, which is rigorous education and military training from an early age to adulthood. By googling Agoge, I stumbled upon a website that registered brave people to travel to the most remote parts of the world to experience challenging and culturally immersive once in a lifetime adventures. And now I aspire to travel with them someday, thanks to Civilization. All of these things were never interesting to me in middle and high school. I think it was because of the teachers. Letting students play Civilization would be an interesting way to teach students about historical contexts and great people etc. It'd be interesting if you guys shared something that you never knew before and learned by playing Civilization. All in all, I truly appreciate this amazing game series. The mathematical components include rates of return, accumulation of wealth, budgeting, and basic financial principals associated with governance.
