HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences)

• The student gained an understanding of their own family history and connections through discussion and reflection on their past and present connections to people and places.
• They developed an appreciation for the significance of different cultural backgrounds and traditions, as well as an understanding of the diverse ways people connect to places and communities.
• The activity helped the student to recognize the changes that have occurred in their community over time and how people have contributed to shaping their environment.

Continued development could involve encouraging the student to research more about their family history and traditions, as well as exploring different cultures and communities to further enhance their understanding of the subject. Further activities could include creating family trees, interviewing family members, and exploring different customs and traditions.
