The kids started by observing the front cover and making predictions about what the book might be about. Then we started reading out loud to them while they listened for characters or scenes to draw. The kids drew while listening to the story. We stopped multiple times to discuss predictions. This book was very silly and the kids were encouraged to laugh and share their thoughts about the text. They were so engaged that we started and finished reading the book in one sitting.
