Hi there! Today, we are going to talk about something really fun: YOUR birthday! Everyone has a birthday, which is the day they were born. This day is special because it celebrates YOU!

What is a Date of Birth?

Your date of birth (often shortened to Dob) is the day, month, and year you were born. For example, if you were born on July 15, 2014, then July is the month, 15 is the day, and 2014 is the year.

How Do We Know How Old You Are?

To figure out how old you are, we look at the current year and subtract the year you were born. For example, if today is the year 2023 and you were born in 2014:

• 2023 (current year)
• - 2014 (your birth year)
• = 9

This means you are 9 years old!
