Let's Learn About Our Lungs!

Our lungs are like balloons inside our body. When we breathe in air, our lungs fill up and get bigger, just like blowing air into a balloon! This is called inhaling.

When we breathe out air, our lungs empty and get smaller, like letting the air out of a balloon. This is called exhaling.

How Breathing Works

1. **Inhale (Breathe In):** When you breathe in, you take a deep breath through your nose or mouth. The air goes down your windpipe and fills up your lungs.

2. **Lungs Get Bigger:** As the air fills up your lungs, they expand and get bigger.

3. **Exhale (Breathe Out):** After holding the air for a moment, you let it out by breathing out through your mouth or nose.

4. **Lungs Get Smaller:** As the air leaves your lungs, they shrink back to their smaller size.

Why Is This Important?

Breathing gives our body the oxygen it needs to stay healthy and strong! So, remember: your lungs are working hard all the time, getting bigger and smaller as you breathe in and out!
