Hey there! Today, we're going to learn about how the air we breathe travels inside our body. Are you ready? Let's go!
When you take a deep breath in, the air enters your nose or mouth first. From there, it travels down a special tube called the trachea (say: tray-kee-ah), which is like a big slide for air!
The trachea is very important because it helps us breathe! It takes the air down into our lungs, where we can use it to give us energy. But did you know that the trachea also helps keep the air nice and clean?
Inside the trachea, there are tiny hairs called cilia (say: sill-ee-uh). These little hairs help to clean the air as it travels down. They catch dust, tiny germs, and other things that shouldn’t be in our lungs. It's kind of like having a superhero team that protects your lungs!
So, every time you breathe, your trachea and its little hair friends are working hard to make sure the air is clean before it reaches your lungs. Isn’t that cool?
Remember to always take deep breaths and enjoy the fresh air because your body is doing an amazing job keeping you healthy!
