Hello little one, I know you might be feeling sad and confused right now because your brother or sister is not home with us. Let’s talk about what’s happening.
Your sibling is not feeling very well because they have some sickness called cancer. Cancer is when some tiny little parts of our body called cells don’t work the way they should. They can make someone feel really tired, and sometimes they need extra help from doctors. That's why Mom and Dad are in the hospital with them.
Even though they are in the hospital, it doesn’t mean they don’t love you. They love you so much! They're getting help to feel better so they can come back home and play with you again. While they are away, know that it’s okay to miss them. Everybody feels a little sad when someone we love is not around.
If you want, we can draw pictures for your sibling. That way, when they see them in the hospital, they will feel happy and know you’re thinking about them. Also, I can give you lots of hugs if you need them!
