The Invention of the Internet

Long ago, when your parents were kids and before you were born, people wanted to share information with each other. They had to send letters or use phones, but that could take a long time!

Then, in the 1960s, clever people called scientists started creating a way for computers to talk to each other. They built the first simple version of what we now call the Internet! It was like making a big network of computers that could send messages super fast, much faster than using mail.

By the 1990s, the Internet became much easier to use. People created websites, like online books or places to play games. Now, anyone with a computer can find information, watch fun videos, or talk to friends from all over the world!

So, the Internet is like a giant spider web that connects everyone, helping us learn and share in amazing ways!
