Frogs are interesting animals because they live both on land and in water! Here’s how it works:

  • Living on Land: Frogs spend most of their time outside on land. They hop around and breathe air with their lungs.
  • Laying Eggs Underwater: Even though frogs live on land, their eggs are laid in water. This keeps the eggs safe and moist so they can grow properly.
  • Tadpoles Hatch From Eggs: When the eggs hatch, tiny baby frogs called tadpoles come out. Tadpoles look very different from frogs. They have tails and live in the water.
  • Tadpole Tails Help Them Swim: The tails that tadpoles have help them swim around in the water to find food and stay safe.
  • Growing Into Frogs: Over time, tadpoles slowly change. Their tails get smaller, legs grow, and they become frogs that can live on land.

This amazing change is called metamorphosis, and it helps frogs live in both land and water during their lives!
