Why Doesn’t a Caring Mother Gorilla Leave Her Baby?

Imagine you are a baby gorilla. You need your mom to help you stay safe, warm, and fed. That’s why a mother gorilla always stays close to her baby. Let me tell you how and why:

  • Protection: Baby gorillas are small and can get hurt easily. Their mom stays near them to keep away animals or dangers that might scare or hurt them.
  • Comfort: Just like you might like a hug when you're scared or sleepy, baby gorillas feel safe and happy when their mom is close by.
  • Feeding: Baby gorillas drink milk from their mom. The mom stays close so her baby can eat whenever it’s hungry.
  • Learning: The baby gorilla watches and learns from its mom how to find food, climb trees, and live in the forest.

So, just like your mom or dad helps you and takes care of you, mother gorillas don’t leave their babies because they love them and want to keep them safe and happy.
