Learn about how the hot, dry savannah and rainy seasons help plants and animals get sunlight and water to live and grow.
The savannah is a place where it is hot and dry for part of the year, and then it rains a lot for the other part. This means the weather changes a lot!
When it is hot and dry, the plants don’t get much rain, so only some strong plants like grasses and trees can live there. But when the rain comes, these plants get lots of water to grow big and green.
Animals in the savannah, like elephants, lions, and zebras, need sunlight and water to live. The sunlight helps plants grow, and the animals eat the plants or other animals that ate the plants. When it rains, water is easier to find, so the animals can drink and stay healthy.
So, even though the savannah can be dry and hot, the rainy time helps plants and animals get the water and sunlight they need to live and grow happily!
