Grass is green because it has something called chlorophyll inside it. Chlorophyll helps grass and other plants catch sunlight to make food. When sunlight shines on the grass, the green color is what we see and that’s why the grass looks green to our eyes!

So, the grass is like a little helper that uses sunlight to grow big and strong, and its color is green because of the special stuff inside it called chlorophyll.
