Let's imagine a company is like a big sports team, and the people who work there are the players. HR (which stands for Human Resources) is like the coach who helps the team work well together.
There are two ways the coach (HR) can think about the players:
- Old Thinking (More Mechanical): This is like thinking of players as machines or robots. The coach only tells the players what to do and expects them to follow rules exactly. The focus is on doing tasks perfectly and quickly, not much about feelings or teamwork. For example, if a player makes a mistake, the coach just says "Do it again this way" without much chat.
- New Thinking (More Emotional): This way, the coach understands that players have feelings, ideas, and need support. The coach listens to the players, helps them feel happy and motivated, and cares about how they work with others. This approach helps players do their best because they feel respected and important in the team.
So, in HR, people used to think mostly like the old mechanical way, focusing on rules and tasks. But now, HR is moving to the new emotional way, paying more attention to how people feel and helping everyone work better together.
