Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there were no clocks to help people know what time it was! Imagine living in a world without any way to know if it was time for breakfast, time to play, or time to go to bed. Sounds a bit chaotic, right?

Well, that's because time, as we know it today, wasn't exactly 'invented' by anyone. Time has always been there, ticking away. But what people did invent were ways to measure and keep track of it! Ancient people noticed that the sun moved across the sky every day. They could tell if it was morning, afternoon, or night just by looking up at the sky.

One of the earliest inventions to measure time was the sundial. Imagine a big stick stuck in the ground, with the sun casting a shadow from it. As the sun moved, the shadow moved too, helping people figure out what part of the day it was. Pretty smart, right?

As time went on (pun intended!), humans got even better at measuring time. They created water clocks, hourglasses, and eventually the mechanical clocks with gears and springs. And today, we have super precise digital clocks in our phones and computers, thanks to our clever and ever-curious human minds.

So, while no one actually 'invented' time itself, humans invented wonderful tools and devices to measure it. And that's how we can tell when it's time for a nap or time to enjoy our favorite cartoons!
