The baobab tree is a very special tree that has a thick trunk and a small treetop. Imagine the trunk is like a big water bottle! During the rainy season, the baobab tree soaks up lots of water, just like a sponge. This water is stored inside its thick trunk. This helps the tree stay alive during dry times when there isn't much rain.

So, even though the treetop is small, the baobab's trunk is very big and important. It carries and saves water so the tree can survive long dry seasons. That’s why the baobab tree is sometimes called the 'Tree of Life' because it holds water and supports many animals and people!
