Imagine you wake up early in the morning and go outside to play. You see tiny little drops of water on the grass, your swing set, and sometimes even your toys. Those tiny drops are called 'dew'!

Dew forms when the air outside is full of something called 'water vapor.' Water vapor is just like tiny, invisible water droplets floating around in the air. When the temperature drops at night, the air becomes cooler, and this makes it hard for the water vapor to stay invisible.

The cooler air makes the water vapor turn back into liquid water, but it needs a place to sit. So, it lands on things like grass, leaves, and pretty much anything else that's outside. This happens because cool surfaces like grass make the water vapor change into those tiny water droplets.

It's a bit like when you have a cold drink on a hot day! Have you ever noticed how your cold drink can becomes wet on the outside? That's because the cold surface of the drink makes the water vapor in the air turn into little drops of liquid water.

So, next time you see those sparkly drops in the morning, you'll know that the night air cooled down, causing the invisible water vapor to turn into those magical little drops called dew!
