Elephants have a very special nose called a trunk. Their trunk is very long and strong, and it helps them do many things!

One fun thing elephants do is spray water from their trunks. Here is how they do it:

  1. First, the elephant uses its trunk like a big straw. It sucks up water from a river, lake, or puddle into its trunk.
  2. Then, the elephant lifts its trunk up and blows the water out. This is called spraying.
  3. Elephants spray water to cool off on a hot day, to drink, or even to play and have fun!

So, an elephant's trunk is very useful – it works like a nose, an arm, and even a water gun!
