What is Kayaking?
Kayaking is a fun water activity where you sit in a small boat called a kayak and use a paddle to move through the water.
Using Paddles
For 6-year-olds, it’s important to learn how to hold the paddle. Hold it with both hands a little wider than your shoulders. To move forward, dip one side of the paddle into the water and pull it back. Then, do the same with the other side. This makes the kayak move smoothly!
Working as a Team
Sometimes, two people sit in the kayak together. To move easily, both people should paddle at the same time on opposite sides. This teamwork helps the kayak go straight and makes it easier to control.
Safety First!
Always wear a life jacket, listen to adults, and stay close to your team. Kayaking is fun and safe when everyone works together and pays attention!
