Honey bees have a special way to tell their friends where the yummiest flowers are. They don't use words like we do. Instead, they do a fun dance called the waggle dance.

When a bee finds a good place with lots of nectar (the sweet juice from flowers), she comes back to the hive and moves her body in a certain way. This dance tells the other bees two important things:

  • Which direction to fly to find the flowers.
  • How far away the flowers are.

You can think of it like the bee giving directions by dancing! So, instead of saying, "Go that way," the bees wiggle and shake to share the secret spot for food.
