Hey there! Have you ever seen a whale blow water out of its nose? It looks like a big splash, right? Let me tell you why whales do that!

Whales are really big animals that live in the ocean. Just like you breathe air with your nose, whales breathe air too! But whales have a special nose on the top of their heads called a blowhole.

When a whale comes to the surface of the water, it breathes out through its blowhole. This makes a big spray of water and air, which is what you see blowing out. The water isn't coming from inside the whale, but from the ocean around it on top of the blowhole.

After blowing out all the old air, the whale takes a deep breath of fresh air, then it dives down under the water to swim and find food.

So, the whale blowing water is just it taking a big breath to breathe!
