Elephants are really big animals, so they can get very hot when the sun shines. To stay cool, they do two special things:
- Spraying Water: Elephants use their long trunks like a straw to suck up water. Then, they spray the water all over their bodies like a fun shower! This helps to cool their skin down.
- Fanning Their Big Ears: Elephants have very big ears. When they flap their ears back and forth, it's like a fan blowing cool air on them. This helps to keep their blood cool inside their ears and all over their body.
So, by spraying water and waving their big ears, elephants can stay nice and cool even when it's hot outside!
