Penguins are amazing birds that live in very cold places where there is lots of ice and snow. Instead of walking slowly, penguins have a cool way to move faster. They slide on their bellies over the ice! This sliding is called tobogganing.

When penguins want to get somewhere quickly, they lie down on their tummies and push with their feet and wings to slide. This is fun for them and helps them save energy when they travel long distances.

So, next time you see a penguin, remember that sliding on their bellies is their special way of moving fast on ice!
