Hi there! Did you know that baby swans, called cygnets, are super soft and fluffy when they are born? Their feathers are like tiny, soft pillows that keep them warm, but they aren't strong enough to help them swim very well or stay safe in the water.

So, the mommy and daddy swans let their little baby chicks ride on their backs. This way, the babies don't get too cold or tired, and they stay safe from any dangers in the water. When the baby chicks grow up a bit, their soft feathers change into big, strong feathers that can keep them warm and help them swim better all by themselves. Then, they don’t need to ride on their parents’ backs anymore!

Isn't it amazing how swan parents help their babies before they can take care of themselves?
