Magpies are very chatty birds because they like to talk to each other! Just like how you use words to talk to your friends and family, magpies use different sounds to talk to other magpies.
They make lots of noises to say things like, "This is my home," or "Watch out!" They can even copy sounds they hear around them, kind of like how you can copy the sounds of animals or funny noises.
So, magpies are chatty because they want to share messages, stay safe, and be friendly to their bird friends!
