What are screws?
Screws are small metal tools that look like nails but have spirals called threads wrapped around them. They have a pointy end to go into materials and a special head that you can turn with a screwdriver.

Who uses screws?
Lots of people use screws! Builders, carpenters, teachers, kids (like you!), and people who fix things all use screws. They use them to put things together and make sure those things stay strong and don’t fall apart.

Why do we need screws?
Imagine you want to build a birdhouse or fix a broken chair. If you just use glue or tape, it might not be strong enough. Screws hold things together tightly because when you twist them in, the spiral threads grab onto the wood or other materials. This keeps the pieces from moving or breaking apart.
Also, screws are easy to take out if you want to fix or move something later. That’s why screws are very useful in building and fixing stuff.

So, screws are like little helpers that keep things joined together safely and strongly!
