Hi there! Do you know about birds called weavers? They are special birds that make very neat nests. Let me tell you how they do it!
First, the weaver birds find many long, thin pieces of grass, called grass blades. Then, they weave or twist these grass blades together. It’s a bit like how you might make a basket or weave a friendship bracelet.
The weavers do this weaving to make a nest that hangs up in the air, kind of like a little hanging house. This nest is suspended from tree branches so it doesn’t touch the ground.
This hanging nest is very strong and safe. Why? Because it keeps the weaver’s egg high above the ground where other animals can’t reach it easily. So, the eggs stay cozy and protected inside the little woven home.
Isn't it amazing how these tiny birds use grass to build such a clever nest to keep their eggs safe?
