What are Fats?

Fats are a special kind of food that our body uses for energy to play and grow. Just like a car needs fuel to run, your body needs fats as fuel too!

Why Do We Need Fats?

  • Give energy: Fats give us lots of energy to run, jump, and have fun.
  • Keep us warm: Fats help keep your body warm like a cozy blanket.
  • Help our body grow: Fats help build strong cells and keep our skin and hair nice.

Good Fats and Less Good Fats

Some fats are healthy, like those found in nuts, fish, and avocados. These help your body stay strong and happy. Other fats, like those in too many chips or candy, are not good if we eat too much.

How to Eat Healthy Fats

  • Eat nuts and seeds as snacks.
  • Try fish like salmon sometimes.
  • Eat lots of fruits and vegetables too!
  • Try to avoid eating too many fried or sugary foods.

Remember, fats are important, but we should eat just the right amount to stay healthy and full of energy!
