What is UNO?

UNO is a fun and exciting card game where players try to get rid of all their cards first. It's great for kids around 11 years old and up, and it's perfect for playing with friends or family!

What You Need to Play:

  • UNO card deck (usually 108 cards)
  • 2 to 10 players

Setting Up the Game:

  1. Shuffle the deck well.
  2. Deal 7 cards to each player.
  3. Place the rest of the deck face down in the center to create a draw pile.
  4. Turn over the top card from the draw pile and place it face up to start the discard pile. If it's a special card (like +2 or wild), follow the rules we'll explain.

How to Play:

Play moves in a clockwise direction. On your turn, try to match the card on the discard pile by:

  • Number: Play a card with the same number (like a 5)
  • Color: Play a card with the same color (red, yellow, green, or blue)
  • Symbol: Play a special card, like skip, reverse, or draw two, if it matches the color

If you don’t have a card to play, you must draw one card from the draw pile. If that card can be played, you can put it down immediately; if not, your turn ends.

Special Cards Explained:

  • Skip: The next player loses their turn.
  • Reverse: Changes the direction of play (clockwise to counterclockwise or vice versa).
  • Draw Two (+2): The next player must draw 2 cards and lose their turn.
  • Wild card: You choose which color the next player must play.
  • Wild Draw Four (+4): You pick the color, and the next player draws 4 cards and loses their turn. (You can only play this if you have no card matching the current color.)

Winning the Game:

When you have only one card left, don’t forget to shout "UNO!" before your turn ends. If another player catches you not saying "UNO," you have to draw 2 cards. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins!

Tips for Playing UNO

  • Try to keep special cards for when they really help you.
  • Pay attention to what colors others are playing.
  • Remember to say "UNO!" when you have one card left.

Now you're ready to play UNO and have a great time with your friends or family. Have fun!
