Water Play Time!
Hi! We are going to play with water on a small table in the garden. An adult will help you. Keep your eyes on the grown up and have fun!
What we need
- Shallow tray or basin
- Small cups, spoons, funnels
- Small waterproof toys, plastic animals, or little boats
- Towel, hat, sunscreen, and a change of clothes
Step by step
- Ask an adult to put a towel under the table and bring the tray.
- The adult fills the tray a little bit with water. Not too deep.
- Pick a cup or spoon. Scoop and pour slowly.
- Try pouring from one cup to another. Watch the water flow.
- Float a toy boat and blow gently to make it move.
- When play is finished, help dry the toys and wipe the table.
Simple games to try
- Fill and dump: move water from one cup to another.
- Sink or float: guess which toy will float, then test it.
- Pour race: who pours without spilling?
- Bubble play: add a tiny bit of soap and use a cup to blow bubbles.
Why this is great for you
Playing with water helps your hands get strong, teaches pouring and words like "more" and "less", and is a calm or silly way to learn.
Safety rules
- An adult stays very close the whole time.
- Keep the water shallow. No running near the table.
- Use sunscreen and a hat if it is sunny.
- Have a towel and dry clothes ready for afterwards.
Have fun! Splash gently and share your toys.
