What Does a Firefighter Do?
A firefighter is a special job that helps keep people safe from fires. They wear big, heavy clothes and helmets to protect them from hot flames and smoke.
Here are some important things firefighters do:
- Putting Out Fires: If a fire starts in a house or a forest, firefighters use big water hoses to spray water on the fire to make it go out.
- Rescuing People: Sometimes, people might get stuck in a place that's on fire. Firefighters go in to help and bring them out safely.
- Preventing Fires: Firefighters also teach people how to be safe and not start fires. They show us how to use smoke detectors and have fire drills.
- Helping in Emergencies: Besides fires, firefighters can help when there are floods, earthquakes, or other big problems where people need help.
Firefighters are very brave and work as a team to help everyone feel safe. Next time you see a fire truck or a firefighter, you can wave and say thank you for their important job!
