What Firefighters Do

Firefighters are super brave helpers in our community! Their main job is to put out fires and keep people safe. Let’s explore what they do step by step:

1. Rushing to the Fire: When there’s a fire, they quickly jump into their big fire trucks and go to the rescue! The sirens go 'wee-woo' to let everyone know they are coming.
2. Wearing Special Gear: Firefighters wear special clothes, like big boots, helmets, and jackets. These help protect them from the heat and smoke. They look like superheroes!
3. Using Water Hoses: When they arrive, they use huge hoses to spray water on the fire. This helps cool it down so it goes out.
4. Helping People: They also make sure everyone is safe. If someone is trapped inside, firefighters go in to help them get out, just like in the movies!
5. Teaching Fire Safety: Firefighters also go to schools to teach us how to be safe around fire. They tell us not to play with matches and to stay low if there’s smoke.

Firefighters are heroes who protect us from danger, and they work very hard every day. Isn’t that cool?
