How Firefighters Help During Floods
When it rains a lot and water begins to rise, it can create floods. Floods are when water covers places where it usually doesn't. This can be dangerous! That's where firefighters come in to help!
1. Keeping People Safe: Firefighters are very brave. When there’s a flood, they make sure that everyone is safe. They can tell people to move to higher places where water can’t reach them.
2. Rescuing People: Sometimes, people can get trapped in their homes or on roofs because of the flooding. Firefighters use special boats or even helicopters to rescue them. They are like superheroes!
3. Helping with Equipment: Firefighters have a lot of tools and equipment. They can use pumps to remove water from places where it shouldn’t be. This helps protect homes and buildings.
4. Giving First Aid: If someone gets hurt during a flood, firefighters can help them feel better. They know how to take care of injuries until doctors can help.
5. Working Together: Firefighters don’t work alone. They team up with other helpers like police and volunteers to make sure everyone knows what to do and where to go.
So, whenever there’s a flood, we can count on firefighters to be there and help everyone stay safe!
