What is a train driver?
A train driver is a grown-up who makes the train go. They sit in the front in a little room called the cab.
What does the train driver do?
- Makes the train go and makes the train stop.
- Presses buttons and levers to control the train.
- Blows the horn so people know the train is coming. (Choo‑choo!)
- Helps keep all the people on the train safe.
- Sometimes wears a nice hat and a uniform.
Listen and look
You can hear a train driver when you hear the horn or the train saying choo‑choo. You can see them in the front window waving.
Fun pretend play
- Sit down and pretend you are in the front of a train.
- Say choo‑choo and pretend to press buttons.
- Wave when you pass friends or a station.
That is what a train driver does. They help the train go and keep everyone safe.
