A collapsed building is when a building falls down and can no longer stand up. Imagine building with blocks and if you take away the bottom block, the top blocks fall over, right? That's kind of like what happens with a building sometimes.
Buildings can collapse for a few reasons:
- Bad Weather: Sometimes, strong winds or heavy storms can hurt a building and make it weak.
- Earthquakes: These are shakes in the ground that can make buildings fall!
- Old Age: Just like how we can get tired and need rest, buildings can get old and weak over time.
- Poor Construction: If the building wasn’t made very well, it might not be strong enough to stay up.
When a building collapses, it can be very dangerous and we need to be careful around these places. That’s why we have rules to keep everyone safe and help people understand to stay away from damaged buildings.
