Sea Turtle
This is a sea turtle. It is an ocean traveller. It has a hard shell on its back. It has big, strong flippers like paddles.
Where it lives:
- In the warm ocean.
- On sandy beaches to lay eggs sometimes.
What it eats:
- Small fish, sea plants, and tiny sea animals.
How it moves:
- It swims with its flippers. It glides through the water.
- On land it crawls slowly using its flippers.
Try a fun pretend game:
- Stand up and stretch your arms out like flippers.
- Move your arms up and down and shuffle slowly like a turtle.
- Sing or say: "Turtle, turtle, slow and strong, swim in the sea all day long."
If you see a real turtle, only look and smile. Do not touch it.
