Blood looks red because most of the tiny parts inside it are red. These tiny parts are called red blood cells.
Here is a simple way to think about it:
- Imagine lots of tiny red boats floating in a river. Those boats are the red blood cells.
- Inside each red boat is a special red helper called hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is what makes the boats red.
- These red boats carry air (oxygen) all around your body so your body can work and play.
So, because most of the things in blood are these little red boats, blood looks red!
